Anger

What makes you angry?
I’m asking about anger because it is so powerful.
A lot of slam poetry is angry.
Anger leads us to the things we must fight for or against.
It’s some kind of gauge. A barometer of the soul.
Often when we’re angry we must follow the root line as it worms across the surface, grip it tight and burrow down into the earth of our intent, find where its tip pierces something else. Is it sadness? Insecurity? Injustice?
Find the root, find the truth.
Its sister, passion, also leads to truth.

When I’m not afraid of them, afraid of the effect they can have or what their root is, I love anger and passion. Their heat. Their intensity.
